Our team brings decades of experience to this mission.Fred Parsons, CEO & FounderOver thirty years ago Fred founded Telemet. He has a patent on the world's first hand-held stock market quote device - a precursor to today's portable information platforms. Fred also built the first wireless digital network for market data. Fred has a Ph.D. degree from Yale University and was on the faculty in Applied Physics at Harvard. Fred also has an MBA. Before founding Telemet Fred was at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Washington and worked with the National Security Council and the Office of the Secretary of Defense among other government agencies.Walker Hunter, Senior Vice PresidentWalker joined Telemet in 1987 as Controller and moved into sales in the early 1990s with the introduction of the Telemet Orion platform. He currently serves the company as Sales Manager. Prior to Telemet, Walker held positions as a production manager at a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, CFO for a restaurant equipment company and as a management consultant. His academic background includes a degree in History and Economics from Lenoir- Rhyne College and an MBA degree from Wake Forest University. Walker resides in Alexandria, VA with his wife (Melinda) and two daughters (Baillie and Eva).Jim Roberts, Sales Vice PresidentIn 1982 Jim Roberts left a successful 10-year career as a stock broker with Dean Witter to help launch Telemet’s sales efforts. In the early 80’s, Telemet’s principal product was the Pocket Quote which provided clients with real time market data in a portable device. Spend much time with Jim and you will hear his proud claims that Telemet’s service is both the best on the market and the best value in the market. And who is in a better position to know? A 1972 graduate of the University of Virginia after 3 years of military duty including Vietnam as Special Forces, Jim continues to be a student of ACC athletics. Married to his wife Jill (a real estate attorney) for 35 years with two grown daughters and a labradoodle named Nick.Matthew Cox, Sales Director, University MarketMatt joined Telemet in January of 2006 as Project Manager, and then in May of 2009 transitioned into the role of Sales Director for the University Market. Prior to Telemet, Matt worked on the retail trading floor and in the managed money group at Wachovia Securities in Richmond, VA for nearly two years. Matt is a proud 2003 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he obtained his B.S. in Resource Management with a minor in Business. Matt currently lives in Arlington, VA.John Green, Business Development & Client Service ManagerJohn Green had been a sales and marketing consultant to Telemet for three years before joining the firm full time. John's experience in the financial services industry focuses on electronic service delivery. He helped develop of one of the first online bill payment systems. Later he ran global operations for a commercial foreign payments service. John earned a Masters of International Business from the University of South Carolina. He resides with his wife and five children in suburban Virginia. |
